Brother and sister head for Prague

East Kilbride siblings Douglas and Corrie Scott are among the six Scots named in the British team for the European Junior Championships in Prague from July 8-12.

Craig Hamilton (Warrender), Sara Hamilton (Stonehaven) and the Stirling pair of Lucy Ellis and Jak Scott are the other Scots in the 57-strong British Gas Junior Squad.

The team will be led by Head Coach Chris Martin, the former Scottish national coach, who will be looking for Britain's talented young swimmers to take another big stride towards the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

"A lot of the youngsters swam really fast at the trials in March, and I’m hoping they'll continue to take steps forward in Prague," explained Martin.

"We have to use to our advantage the fact we have a big team. We have to promote competition within our own ranks to get as many athletes as possible to finals.
