Anderson as good as ever

Evergreen Scot Jim Anderson took Great Britain's gold medal tally to four on the opening day of the IPC European Swimming Championships in Reykjavik.

The 46-year old six-time Paralympic gold medallist secured a victory in the 50m freestyle while Poland's Jacek Czech took silver and Russia's Dmitry Kokarev completed the podium.

"I feel wonderful," said Anderson, after winning his first title for five years in a time of 1.09.24

"I didn't get a great start but I knew I just had to go for it after that and I managed to pull it back.

"I want more gold medals from the rest of this competition."
