World number one Hannah Miley dominant in medleys at Barcelona meet
Double European record holder Hannah Miley captured her third title of the three-city Mare Nostrum series with a resounding win in the 400m medley in Canet.
Miley captured 200m and 400m medley glory in the first leg of the three-pronged event in Barcelona, and then moved up to the 800m freestyle on day one in Canet, where she came third.
But in the medleys, Miley is in imperious form and she romped home in 4:38.27 minutes. She currently tops the world rankings and will head July's World Championships in Rome full of confidence.
The Garioch swimmer returned to the pool to grab third in the 200m freestyle to ensure she has picked up three victories and three third-place finishes after the first two legs of the competition.
Meanwhile, former four-time European junior champion Lizzie Simmonds eased to victory in the 200m backstroke while Fran Halsall came third in the 100m butterfly.
The series now heads to Monaco for the last of the three legs.
