Scots in the mix for World Championship spot
Alan Clyne, Stuart Crawford, Jamie MacAulay and Chris Small are the top four seeds for the first round of Scotland’s world championship team trials at Heriot-Watt University.
The top three players from the three rounds of trials staged over the next week will automatically be selected for the world team championships in Odense in Denmark at the end of next month.
The fourth player will be named by Scottish National coach, Roger Flynn.
Graham Melvin, Lyall Paterson and top junior, Chris Ferguson, are among the 12 players vying for the coveted selections.
Meanwhile, the squash world was desperately disappointed not to be recommended as a sport for the 2016 Olympic Games. The International Olympic Committee chose golf and rugby sevens.
Squash has been trying to join the Olympic family since the early 1980s.
