

Alan Clyne causes a number of upsets to secure place in final
Scotland’s Alan Clyne, a qualifier and currently ranked No.167 in the world, scored a string of upsets to reach the final of the Talisman Energy Bankers Hall Tournament in Calgary.
The Inverness 21-year-old, who won his first professional tournament at the Charleston Challenge in America last September, beat the top seed Jan Koukal (Czech republic) 11-6 11-5 4-11 11-3 in the quarter-finals and then ousted No.4 seed Nafizwan Adrian (Malaysia) 12-10 11-5 10-12 11-6.
In the final, the Scottish Champion will meet the No. 2 seed from Mexico, Arturo Salazar.
Meanwhile, former Scottish Champion Stuart Crawford reached the semi-finals of the Welsh Open in Cardiff. Having come from behind to beat Neil Cordell (England) 9-11 10-12 1-4 11-7 11-7 in a tough quarter-final, he then went out 8-11 4-11 6-11 to Wales’ former world top ten player, David Evans.
