Alan Clyne reaches semi-finals of Wells and Young Wimbledon Cup
Scotland’s Alan Clyne continues to make waves at a higher level. Seeded to reach the quarter-finals at the Wells and Young Wimbledon Cup, the Inverness star went one better and made the last four.
And he put up a great performance before going out in a marathon semi-final match against top seed, Daryl Selby.
Clyne, who had beaten former world top ten player Steve Meads in the quarter-finals, lost a close decider against the English favourite. Selby eventually won 9-11 11-9 11-6 6-11 11-6.
In the fifth game, the No.1 seed romped into a 5-1 lead, but Clyne battled back to trail by just one point at 5-6. However, experience told in the end.
