Skier Tilley sets sights on 2014 Games
Scottish skier Alexandra Tilley is eyeing up a place on the plane to the 2014 Winter Olympics after claiming giant slalom gold at the British Championships.
The 16-year-old served notice of her talents by claiming the Scottish National Ski Council Cup in Meribel, France.
And Tilley, who followed up her domestic joy by skiing to slalom bronze at the Australian National Championships, admits her sights are fixed on the Sochi Games.
“Winning the British Championships giant slalom was amazing for me,” said Tilley.
“In terms of points it wasn't as good as how I did in Australia, but in terms of getting my name known in the British circuit, it was brilliant.
“My aim is the 2014 Olympics, or maybe even the one after, but it would be great to experience it.
“I can't wait for the Olympics in Vancouver next year, I’ll be watching as much as I can and hoping that it will be me one day.”
