Andy Noble marks comeback with 6th place finish in Europa Cup
Scotland’s Andy Noble has been out of action since last Christmas with a serious leg injury has made a great return by finishing sixth in the FIS Europa Cup race at Landgraaf in Holland.
A downhill specialist, it was an impressive result in a slalom event and is the perfect boost as he looks forward to the World Cup season.
“I had a very good first run which put me into fifth place,” said the Edinburgh skier. “I didn’t quite feel on top form but took the necessary risks. The nerves kicked in during the second run and I was a little more cautious.
Lying 10th going into the third and final run, Andy added: “I was sixth of the 15 qualifiers to race and just went for it. It was great to move up to sixth place overall.”
This weekend, Andy moves on to Levi in Finland and will be competing in the Audi FIS World Cup Slalom.
