Baxter faces longer lay-off
World Cup skier Noel Baxter must be wondering when his luck is going to change.

For after showing promise in the latter part of 2007, the 26 year-old from Aviemore, who finished 14th in Combined and 20th in slalom at the 2006 Winter Olympics, suddenly found himself being a World Cup onlooker for much of the season after a training crash in January.

Having recovered from that knee injury and returned to post-season training last month, it would appear the specialist of the slalom and combined disciplines has once again been struck by injury.

For just ten days ago whilst training in Tignes, France, the World Cup star reportedly felt a pop in his knee and is once again – at least for a few weeks - forced to put his training on hold as he consults his medical team.
