Maguire leads but misses out on maximum at Crucible
Scotland's Stephen Maguire looked on course for a maximum 147 break at the World Snooker Championship - but the critical and ultimately unlucky 13th red rattled the pocket and refused to drop.
The world number two had potted 12 blacks in the fifth frame and looked on course to clear the table.
He leads the encounter with Jamie Burnett 6-3 overnight - but lost the last two frames of the session to surrender an even more dominant advantage.
It's the pairs first encounter since suspicious and irregular betting patterns emerged during Maguire's 9-3 win in December's UK Championship.
Both players have denied any wrongdoing and Maguire met Strathclyde police officers earlier this week to answer questions on the incident.
Two-time champion John Higgins will take a 5-4 lead into the final session of his first-round Crucible encounter against qualifier Michael Holt - winning four of the last five frames.
