Hendry frustrated after lacklustre exit from Glasgow Grand Prix
Seven-time world champion Stephen Hendry saw his Grand Prix campaign come to an abrupt end as he lost 5-2 to Mark Williams.
The 40-year-old missed out on a place in the final eight after having no answer to the Welshman as he surged into a 4-1 lead.
Williams joined Scot John Higgins in the quarter-finals at Kelvin Hall in Glasgow – which kick-off today – and Hendry was left to rue what might have been.
“The only time I got any type of form was when I was 4-1 down and if you need that to get yourself going, then it is going to be an uphill battle,” said Hendry.
“Some days everything just clicks into place but sometimes when I get down to take a shot, I’ve no idea what I’m going to do with it.
“I practised for about an hour and a half before the match but I didn’t feel good. I didn’t get going at all and that’s very frustrating.”
