Scots star for GB

The Great Britain Junior team of Kay Copland (Sco), Sheree Cox (Eng) and Nicola Sammels (Sco) today won a Silver Medal in the Woman’s 50m Prone Rifle team event at the European Junior Shooting Championships being held in Pilzen, Czech Republic,.

Their score of 1765 equalled the Gold medal winning score of the Swedish team, however the girls were unlucky to lose out on top spot on count back.

Kay Copland had top score in the team (591) and finished in fourth place, once again unluckily losing out on count back from taking the bronze medal.

Continuing the theme of success in Scottish women's shooting, Commonwealth Games veteran Susan Jackson shot a new personal best of 576 in winning the 3x20 Grand Prix at Denwood on Sunday.

This added three points to her previous best, set at a Grand Prix in late 2005.
