Scots shoot in Hannover

A strong Scottish contingent of shooters attended the 2nd International Shooting Competition in Hannover last week, which ran from Wednesday 30th April to Sunday 4th May. 

Highlights of the week included a silver medal for the Great Britain team of in the men's prone event.  This team included two Scots – young gun Matthew Thomson (Edinburgh) and Neil Stirton (Aberdeen) - and Welshman Dave Phelps. 

Earlier the same day, 20 year-old Robin Honhold (Edinburgh) reached the final of the Junior Men's Prone event, finishing in sixth place. 

2006 Commonwealth Gold medallist Susan Jackson (Edinburgh) was also in competition, as she continues her comeback to the sport after a period of maternity leave.

With some of the team returning home, attention now moves to Pilsen, Czech Republic, where the annual Grand Prix of Liberation commences on Wednesday 8th.
