Cusiter happy to win ugly against France in IRB Nations Cup final
Chris Cusiter has urged Scotland A to win at all costs when they go head-to-head with France A to decide the IRB Nations Cup on Sunday.
Scotland top the table on points difference from their French counterparts after comprehensive victories over Russia and Uruguay and this weekend's victor will be crowned champions.
And Cusiter, who signed for Glasgow Warriors in January having spent two years with French outfit USA Perpignan, insists Scotland need to continue the winning sequence.
"My experience is that winning does become a habit," he said.
"Sometimes you go away from home or are in an unfamiliar environment and all you have to do is win the game, and you don't try to win by 30 points, because that's not possible; you do what you have to do just to win the game.
"On Sunday if we have to win the game by playing ugly then that's what we have to do, but it doesn't matter because it's about winning.
"I've experienced that this last year at Perpignan and feel like I have perhaps a better understanding of how to win these games, helped by the fact that I'm a decision-maker in the team.
"It's about making smart decisions on the park, reading how the game is going, not playing the most fancy or attractive rugby, doing what you have to do to win."
