Hugo Southwell to join Stade Francais on two-year deal
Edinburgh full-back Hugo Southwell has become the latest player to join the exodus to France after agreeing to join Stade Francais.
The 28-year-old, capped 48 times by Scotland, has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the French giants after deciding to call time on his six-year stay with Edinburgh.
Southwell, who has also played for Bristol and Worcester, will join fellow Scot Simon Taylor in Paris and admits the chance was one he couldn't turn down.
"I spoke to Simon Taylor in the Six Nations and he only told me good things about the club," said Southwell, who lost his place to Chris Paterson in this year's woeful campaign.
"It's going to be a great experience and I can't wait for the challenge of playing for one of the best teams in Europe."
