Scots stuffed in Festival

Scotland Under-18s got their Five Nations Festival off to the worst possible start in Italy as they slumped to an embarrassing 75-0 defeat against the Auld Enemy.

Grant McKelvey's troops had been given a warning of England's quality last month when they fell 63-0 in a warm-up fixture at Kingston Park.

But they showed no signs of turning the tide as 30 points from fly-half Jake Sharp and two tries from London Irish wing Sam Edgerley rocked the Scots.

Billy Vunipola broke the deadlock after just five minutes before Edgerley notched his first and flanker Matt Everard added a third from the restart.

Sharp got in on the act to take the score to 26-0 at half-time before England added salt into the wounds running in seven further tries in the second half.

Centre Owen Farrell, Christian Wade, Edgerley, George Ford, Henry Thomas, Sharp and Jonathan Joseph all touched down as England completely dominated at the Stadio L.Zaffanella.

Scotland face Wales next on Saturday and will want to put an uninspiring showing against the English well and truly behind them.
