Scots overcome Fiji to reach quarter finals at London Sevens
Scotland have reached their first quarter-final of the season in the IRB World Sevens series, after topping their group at the London Sevens at Twickenham.
Having lost their opening match against Kenya 17-12 in a particularly narrow affair, Stephen Gemmell's side bounced back with an impressive victory 12-7 over Fiji.
And Scotland rubber-stamped their place in the quarter finals with a thumping 40-0 win over Pool C whipping boys USA.
"To come back and beat Fiji was a fantastic achievement and testament to the work the lads have been putting in," said Gemmell.
"And then to follow that up with an outstanding performance against USA was tremendous and we thoroughly deserve our place in the quarters."
Gemmell's men will now face Portugal for a place in the last four.
