Andy Robinson applies for Scottish head coach vacancy
Edinburgh coach Andy Robinson will today reveal he has applied to become Frank Hadden's successor as Scotland's head coach.
The former England coach met the 5pm deadline yesterday with his application, which has been widely predicted ever since Hadden and the SRU went their separate ways at the start of April.
Robinson said: "I've shown that I'm passionate about Scottish rugby in the way that I've worked here at Edinburgh and coached the Scotland 'A' team.
"I've a real feeling for the players here."
Hadden's former assistant's Graham Steadman and Gregor Townsend are not thought to have followed Robinson's lead but forwards coach Mike Brewer is in the running.
The SRU will now appoint a panel of experts for the interview process, which will include former captain Gordon Bulloch.
The new man should be installed in time to take the 'A' squad to the IRB Nations Cup in June.
