Rugby round-up - Reports from the Magners League and Scottish Premier Divisions
Glasgow Warriors slipped to their second consecutive Magners League defeat as Ospreys came from behind to register a 26-16 victory at Firhill.
Lions winger Tommy Bowe scored a stunning individual try for the Welsh side as they overcome a 16-6 half-time deficit.
Dan Parks' penalty got the Warriors on the board early on before slotting another three-pointer soon after to put the hosts in control.
Dan Biggar's drop goal brought the Ospreys back into contention but a Parks drop goal and Dave McCall's converted try gave Glasgow a commanding lead.
Nikki Walker's try gave the visitors the lead and Biggar added the extras to secure the points.
Glasgow boss Sean Lineen revealed after the game that a flu bug had ravaged his squad prior to the game.
The Warriors led 16-6 at the break but fell away after the break as the home team felt the effects of a bug that 11 players had been struck down by.
Influential scrum-half Chris Cusiter had to go off at halftime but Lineen is still adamant that was still no excuse for their second-half disintegration.
He said: “Most of the squad were actually suffering from flu during the week and they just ran out of steam.
“Chris Cusiter, for example, just couldn't carry on after the interval and we didn't follow the game plan.
“Ospreys were also much more streetwise than us when it came to playing the ref. They upped the pace when we began to toil and got points when it mattered.
“I'm not as disappointed as I was after losing to the Dragons. The guys were superb in the first half but then lost momentum.”
Edinburgh v Leinster
Edinburgh meanwhile suffered their first defeat of the season in a tight match against European champions Leinster at Murrayfield on Saturday.
Chris Paterson might even have given victory for the Scottish side but the usually iron-nerved kicker missed an injury time penalty to see his side lose 21-19.
Edinburgh dominated the first half and will have been disappointed to go in 6-6 at the interval after seeing Leinster prop Cian Healy yellow carded just before the break and having a Tim Visser try disallowed after he was deemed to have strayed into touch.
Leinster’s Fergus McFadden added insult to injury and kicked the visitors into a second-half lead but Edinburgh battled back and took a stranglehold on the game through a Ben Cairns try.
But McFadden was the thorn in Edinburgh’s side all match and two more penalties gave Leinster the two point lead that ultimately proved too much for the Scots.
