Rob Moffat urges players to flourish against French side in Europe
Edinburgh coach Rob Moffat has called on his side to repeat last season's French heroics after being drawn against Stade Francais in the opening round of Heineken Cup fixtures.
The capital side overcame Castres 13-6 last season but it was not enough for Andy Robinson's men to progress from Pool B that contained eventual winners.
And with old boys Simon Taylor and Hugo Southwell lying in wait for the French giants on October 10, Moffat maintains there's extra incentive to hit the ground running.
He said: "It's important you get off to a good start in Europe, which we didn't manage last year.
"But what we did achieve last season was an away win in France, so we have to target a repeat when we play Stade Francais in October and that would set us up nicely for our opening home game against Ulster.
"Potentially we could catch up with Hugo and Simon when we travel to Paris so that will add a bit of spice to that tie too."
