Glasgow miss out in last minute while Edinburgh blow away Leinster
GLASGOW fly-half Dan Parks was left red-faced after missing a last-gasp penalty as Ulster claimed an unlikely 20-19 Magners League-win on their travels.
Parks fluffed attempt was the last kick of the game and allowed Ulster to record only their second away win of the campaign.
Ulster had led 20-6 at half-time thanks to tries from David Pollock and Simon Danielli but a try from Thom Evans early in the second half gave Glasgow hope.
Parks landed his second penalty of the game to cut the deficit to a single point but then missed the crucial kick deep into stoppage-time.
Meanwhile, Edinburgh claimed a 27-16 win against high-flying Leinster thanks to first-half tries by Ally Hogg, John Houston and Simon Webster.
John Fogarty got Leinster's first try just before the hour mark and Fergus McFadden's penalty brought the visitors to within eight points of Edinburgh.
But Chris Paterson showed Lions boss Ian McGeechan his value with the boot, producing an assured kicking display to settle the home side's nerves.
