Munster captain O'Connell wary of Glasgow threat at Firhill
Munster captain Paul O’Connell has warned his side to underestimate Glasgow at their peril ahead of their Magners League opener at Firhill.
Glasgow ended their pre-season campaign on a high edging out Guinness Premiership outfit Wasps 16-15 while Munster saw off Leicester 34-28.
Munster completed a Magners League double over the Warriors last season but O’Connell believes repeating the trick won’t be so easy this year.
“Munster have never found it easy against Glasgow home or away,” said O’Connell.
“On top they have brought in quality internationals like Chris Cusiter and Rob Dewey who we know all about – it is a very testing opener for us.
“So you have to say that Glasgow have strengthened over the summer and in front of their support on the opening night they will come out of the traps full pelt.”
