Lineen expects more from Warriors despite victory against Scarlets
Glasgow boss Sean Lineen has called for more from his Glasgow Warriors despite seeing the Scottish outfit claim a workmanlike 19-11 win over Llanelli Scarlets on Sunday.
Edinburgh and Glasgow now occupy the top two spots in the Magners League table, with Lineen's men even having disposed of defending champions Munster in the opening week on the season.
But Lineen insists he was far from happy with the manner of his side's win against the Scarlets and has called for some urgent improvements ahead of Friday's clash at Newport Gwent-Dragons.
"We won, that's about it," said Lineen. "Our expectations are high and the boys are pretty upset with themselves.
"We butchered five chances to score out there when we were in the green zone.
"We did so much good stuff in terms of build-up play and how easy was that try we scored? That's what's supposed to happen."
There was almost a sense that the extended lay-off ahead of a Sunday match had worked against Glasgow and certainly Lineen dismissed any suggestion that a five-day turnaround ahead of Friday's visit to Newport Gwent Dragons constituted any sort of issue.
"It is not a problem. We would be looking to freshen the side up anyway," he said.
