Edinburgh prop Jacobsen raring to go after injury lay-off
Prop Allan Jacobsen will put his injury nightmare behind him this weekend as Edinburgh meet Harlequins in a friendly at Myreside.
The 30-year-old has been out of action since February when he sustained a shoulder injury in Scotland’s 26-6 Six Nations victory over Italy at Murrayfield.
And Jacobsen admits he has been kicking his heels in frustration in his six months on the treatment table during which time Edinburgh finished second in the Magners League.
He said: “This has been the longest period I've been out of rugby since I started playing.
“It was great to see the boys do so well and finish second in the league but it was frustrating not being a part of it – I'm just glad to be back fit.
“I’ve done a lot of training on my own and a lot of rehab so it’s brilliant to just be back amongst it with the lads.
“The way the season ended for me personally was really disappointing because I felt I was playing some of the best rugby of my career so hopefully that can continue.”
