Scotland star Ally Hogg relishing Sevens opportunity
Edinburgh's Ally Hogg is relishing the chance to make his Scotland international sevens bow later this month after being called up by boss Stevie Gemmell for the IRB legs at both Twickenham and Murrayfield.
Hogg, 26, has played 48 times for Scotland in the 15-a-side equivalent but after being overlooked by Lions boss Ian McGeechan for this summer's tour to South Africa, the back-row forward was happy to answer Gemmell's call.
The utility forward is not the only full international that will be on show at Twickenham and Murrayfield, with livewire Thom Evans also included in the Scotland squad.
"Representing Scotland at sevens is something I have always wanted to do because it is the one area in which I have still to gain national honours," said Hogg.
"I was in the squad at the start of my career but an ankle injury ruled me out then and I've had to wait until now for another chance."
