Nathan Hines to miss second Lions test after recieving one week ban for dangerous tackle
Scottish lock Nathan Hines has been ruled out of the Lions second Test after been hit with a one-week ban for a dangerous tackle in the 13-13 draw against the Emerging Springboks.
The 32-year-old was set to be included in Ian McGeechan's 22 after a below-par performance by the pack in the first Test defeat to the South Africa.
But those hopes have now been dashed for Perpignan's Hines after being cited for a dangerous tackle on opposite number Wilhelm Steenkamp.
Canada's Judicial Officer Alan Hudson found Hines guilty of lifting and dropping Steenkamp in a dangerous manner on Wednesday.
Hines, who was represented by McGeechan, Richard Smith QC and Lions tour manager Gerald Davies, does have the right to appeal the decision.
