Scots can take the Aussies, says stand-off Phil Godman
Fly-half Phil Godman insists Scotland are capable of upsetting the odds and downing Australia at Murrayfield in Saturday’s second autumn international.
The 27-year-old Edinburgh back bagged 13 points to help head coach Andy Robinson get his tenure off to a flying start with a 23-10 win over Fiji last weekend.
And with Robinson fielding the same XV to tackle the two-time world champions, Godman insists Scotland can taste their first success in 16 meetings between the two sides.
"When you're playing against the best teams in the world, you need to really have a go and it's going to take a massive 22-man effort to get the win,” said Godman.
"We need to throw the kitchen sink at them, leave nothing out on the pitch.
"But I believe we can do that and it's going to be a cracking game."
"We know we have to up our game, but we go in with a really positive mindset after getting a good win under our belt.
"Everyone in the squad is positive and looking forward to getting out there."
