Glasgow grab impressive away-draw at star-studded Ospreys
Glasgow survived a late Ospreys onslaught to leave the Liberty Stadium with a hard-fought 9-9 draw played in atrocious conditions.
The weather combined with the hosts’ missing internationals in their backline meant a try-fest was never on the cards and so it proved with Gareth Owen trading three kicks with opposite number Dan Parks.
There was also bad news for Scotland boss Andy Robinson as the Ospreys’ Scottish winger Nikki Walker was forced off with a head injury in the first half.
Owen slotted two first-half penalties to one from Parks to give the home side the lead at the break although the Glasgow Warriors fly-half did miss an opportunity to level the scores on the stroke of halftime.
Glasgow fell further behind as Owen made it 9-3 with a 46th minute penalty but Parks quickly drew the visitors level.
But young fly-half Owen could have won it for the home side as he was off target with a further penalty and drop goal.
