Sean Lineen challenges 'strongest squad' to step up to the plate
Glasgow coach Sean Lineen is convinced his current crop of players is the best he’s ever had – and now wants them to prove it.
Lineen – who is heading into his fourth season in charge of the Warriors – is determined that his side improve on season’s seventh place finish in the Magners League.
And he is looking for them to start as they mean to go on with a win against Wasps in a friendly at Firhill on Friday tonight
“I think this is the strongest squad I have had in my time at Glasgow,” he said. “There is some fantastic competition right the way through the squad.
“We have real talent and competition, but what we need now is consistency – a when we do play at our best we're a match for anyone.
“We were just one kick away from finishing fifth last season, but finishing seventh was actually a good thing in the sense that it made sure we all took a real good look at ourselves.
“Hopefully things can get off to a good start against Wasps and we can make the improvement we want from last season.”
