Glasgow 30 Connacht 9

Glasgow inflicted further misery on basement-side Connacht as Scotland sevens international Hefin O'Hare helped to secure a bonus-point win.

The sevens international scored a brilliant solo try to light up a miserable night in Glasgow, slicing apart the Connacht defence on a run from halfway for the score that took the Warriors clear, after they had struggled to break down the visiting defence.

Connacht led 9-8 at half time thanks to the kicking of Ian Keatley but O'Hare plunged over twice and Moray Low also added to Colin Shaw's fine first half touchdown.

Glasgow boss Sean Lineen was left purring at his side's four-try showing against the Irish province.

"The best thing about this match was the result, and getting a bonus-point against a stuffy side like Connacht is not easy to do," said Lineen.

"It's not been a great season, the boys know that, and we haven't met the expectation, so we have to go away this summer and work hard on that.

"But we have a lot of great youngsters coming through and I thought Richie Gray was outstanding on his debut tonight."

Colin Gregor kicked the rest of the home team's points but it was a sloppy, error-strewn display all round.

The best Glasgow can hope for is a seventh place finish in the table and that will frustrate Lineen after a promising start to the campaign.
