Alan MacDonald selected to make Scotland debut against Argentina
Edinburgh flanker Alan MacDonald is set to make his Scotland debut at the weekend after being named in the starting XV for the match against Argentina.
The 24-year-old is one of three changes to the side which secured a famous 9-8 victory over Australia last weekend.
Ben Cairns returns to the team along with Thom Evans while Alex Grove has shifted from outside centre to inside centre.
Coach Andy Robinson said: “Alan MacDonald has been playing well for Scotland A. His continuity skills are very good and he deserves this chance.
“We do have competition for places. Australia was a very physical international but that is now history.
“This selection is about the management of our squad and giving players that performed in the A team an opportunity to deliver a win for Scotland.”
