De Luca double sends Edinburgh to second place league finish
Nick De Luca's second-half double helped Edinburgh see off Cardiff Blues 36-14 and clinch the Magners League runners up spot.
De Luca's tries and 11 points from the boot of Chris Paterson saw the Scottish outfit overturn a 14-3 half-time deficit in the league's final fixture and the Blues' final game at the Cardiff Arms Park.
The Welsh outfit dominated the early exchanges and deservedly took the lead when fly-half Nick Robinson crossed after four minutes.
Ben Blair added the conversion and repeated the trick after 31 minutes after Chris Czekaj had crossed.
Paterson's penalty was the only score for Edinburgh as the Blues looked set for a ninth win of the season at the interval.
But a different Edinburgh emerged after the break and they quickly reduced the deficit when Paterson converted a 45th minute penalty try.
And just three minutes later they struck again when Ben Cairns crossed.
Paterson added the conversion but the Scottish side didn't stop there with Phil Godman and De Luca also going over to seal their sixth straight victory.
