Chris Cusiter expected to be fit in time for Autumn Tests
Scotland scrum-half Chris Cusiter’s ankle injury is not as bad as first feared and he will be fit for the November internationals.
Cusiter lasted just eight minutes of Glasgow Warriors’ disappointing Heineken Cup defeat to Newport Gwent Dragons last weekend.
The initial prognosis was that Cusiter had suffered a serious ligament injury which could have ruled him out until 2010.
But X-rays revealed that the 27-year-old will be fit to compete with captain Mike Blair for the No.9 shirt in Scotland’s internationals against Fiji, Australia and Argentina.
He could even be available for selection for the Warriors’ Friday night against Connacht while there is further good news with Scotland coach Andy Robinson at Firhill with both centre Max Evans also on the comeback trail to full fitness.
However Robinson is almost certain to be without Warriors duo Rob Dewey and Ruraidh Jackson who are still sidelined for his first competitive matche in charge at Murrayfield.
