Skipper Blair determined to show Ulster what Edinburgh are made of
Edinburgh skipper Mike Blair is convinced his team can bounce-back from their disastrous start in this year’s Heineken Cup with a win over Ulster at Marrayfield on Saturday.
The Gunners began their campaign with a 31-7 defeat to Stade Francais last weekend in their opening group match.
But the 28-year-old insists his side can come back stronger than ever against an Ulster side they have already beaten 16-13 in the Magners League this season.
He said: “When we played Ulster last month it was a funny game where they had a lot of possession but we scrambled our defence well.
“We can’t afford to give them that amount of possession again otherwise we will get punished a lot more than we did.
“It’s important to have a good result after the defeat to Stade Francais but only two teams won away in the opening round so we are not out of it.
“Saturday is our chance to prove that we are still a part of this competition.”
