Simon Webster clsoe to regaining full fitness after long term lay-off
Edinburgh winger Simon Webster is determined to come back stronger than ever after his long-term injury lay-off – and could play this weekend against Newport Gwent Dragons.
The 28-Year-old played for Dundee High at Boroughmuir at the weekend after being out since June with an Achilles injury picked-up helping Scotland win the Nations cup.
But Webster – who has 37 Scotland caps – knows the real hard work will begin when he returns to the Edinburgh first-team fold.
He said: “Hopefully I’ll be available for the weekend. Obviously it’s up to the physios and coaches but if I’m selected I’ll do whatever they want me to do.
“I’m very close to being involved again but because of the autumn internationals there’s only the Newport game before we have a big break.
“By holding off I could use November to get really fit and get myself to the peak level of sharpness I was at three years ago – it’s very exciting.”
