Chris Paterson contributes 28 points as Edinburgh clinch bonus point win
Chris Paterson grabbed 28 points to seal an emphatic 43-3 win over Newport Gwent Dragons in what could be coach Andy Robinson's final home game in charge of Edinburgh.
It was the Gunners' fifth win on the trot which not only lifts them to third place in the table but also strengthens Robinson's credentials to take the hotseat at Murrayfield.
And he owes a big thanks to full-back Paterson who demonstrated why he is considered world rugby's deadliest kicker with five penalties and four conversions while also grabbing his own try.
In an even first half, the Dragons took the lead through Jason Tovey's penalty before Paterson responded with three kicks of his own to put the home side 9-3 ahead at the break.
Two further penalties from Scottish international Paterson put Edinburgh in control before they cut loose with four tries after the hour mark.
In addition to Paterson, replacements John Houston and Ben Meyer along with centre Ben Cairns crossed.
