Lineen challenges youngster McCall to step up to the mark
Glasgow Warriors coach Sean Lineen has called on centre Dave McCall to show what he is made of when he makes his debut against the Ospreys tomorrow.
The 22-year-old has been handed a place in the starting line-up at Firhill following an injury to Peter Murchie after the Warriors' 30-19 defeat at the Dragons last Friday.
But Lineen knows McCall, a summer signing from Edinburgh, will be in for a tough time against a team that has seven British Lions in its starting line-up, including the returning Alun-Wyn Jones and Shane Williams.
He said: "Dave is a really good player and a fantastic athlete and I'm convinced he's ready to make the step-up.
"It will be hard for him because the Ospreys are a very good side who are littered with Internationals and Lions.
"They are fantastic rugby players but there are only 15 of them so we're going to make sure we don't give them an inch to play and we then hope we can get back to winning ways."
