Hall called up

Prop James Hall is the only uncapped player in the Scotland squad for Saturday's Four Nations Championship opener against Ireland at Preston Lodge.

The Northumbria University studenthas impressed in recent outings and caoch Gus McNab feels he deserves his call-up.

“James has graduated through the Scotland Students ranks as a stand-out performer at last year's World Cup,” he said.

“This is what we are looking for: the A team to be a progression pathway for those from the Under-18s and Students side to step up and help us provide players for the full squad who have come through the Scottish system.”
