Aikman breaks world record

Young David Aikman went to Coventry to compete in the British Drug Free Powerlifting Association Championships, and exceeded everyone’s expectations when he not only won his age group but also broke the World Record for it too.

David, who is in the 56kg class weighed in at 54.9kg and Bench Pressed a National record of 75kg, Back squatted 110kg for a National record and In the Deadlift David lifted 163kg for an age group World Record to total a new National record and 1st place.

David has only been competing in Powerlifting for a very short time and to achieve what he has done has been remarkable.

David is coached by his father David senior who also competes in regular competitions around the UK.

The father and son team look set to make a big impact in not only British Powerlifting but the World stage also by the looks of it.
