Three Scots set for world championships

Scotland’s Hollie Orr and Hazel Wright, who were both medallists at the recent Futures Champions Cup, have been rewarded with selection in the GB team for the Junior World Championships in Italy this summer.  

Alasdair McLeod has also been selected, while Alan Cherry is one of the reserves.

Hollie’s younger sister, Jessica, has also earned a place in a GB team for the European Youth Championships in Serbia.

A number of other Scots have been chosen for forthcoming competitions and training camps.

Junior World Orienteering Championships (Italy): Alasdair McLeod (EUOC), Hollie Orr (CLYDE), Hazel Wright (MAROC) Reserve: Alan Cherry (INT)
European Youth Orienteering Championships (Serbia): Men: Alan Cherry (INT), Jamie Stevenson (FVO), Finlay Langan (MAROC) Women: Jessica Orr (CLYDE) Reserve: Abigail Longhurst (FVO)
Pre-Junior World Orienteering Championships 2010 (Denmark): Alasdair McLeod, Alan Cherry, Hazel Wright, Jessica Orr
Summer Tour to Halden, Norway: Jamie Stevenson, Finlay Langan, Jo Shepherd (INVOC), Abi Longhurst, Kirsty Coombs (MAROC) Reserve: Kirstin Maxwell (RR)
Summer Tour to Badaguish: Joab Matthews (MAROC), Rona Lindsay (ESOC)
Summer Tour to Lagganlia: Rhona McMillan (MAROC), Karen Maxwell (RR), Frances Brown (FVO), Robert Patterson (CLYDE), Craig Nolan (ESOC)
