Clyde’s Hollie Orr finished second and Aberdeenshire’s Hazel Wright was third at the Futures Champions Cup at the Forest of Dean. The results were based on a series of seven races.

It means that Hollie has automatically qualified for the World Junior Championships in Italy in July – and Hazel has an excellent chance of also being included in the GB squad.

Making it a great family weekend, Hollie’s younger sister, Jessica, was third in the Under-18 event.

Edinburgh University’s Alastair McLeod was the fourth Scottish medallist with a bronze in the Under-20 category.

In the British Elite Championships held at the same venue, results were reversed with Hazel, who is coahed by her Mum, Denise, at the Mar Club, taking silver and Hollie the bronze.
