Fraser claims World selection as he wins the UK Cup
Edinburgh's Scott Fraser backed his already substantial claim for World Championship team selection by winning the UK Cup at this weekend's finals in Shropshire, which were also used as the team trials.
Victory in the sprint and third place in the middle distance saw him beat Yorkshire's British long distance champion Oli Johnson into second overall by nine points with his 337 point total .
Fellow Scot Jamie Stevenson almost certainly made sure he will be in the British team to compete at the event in the Czech Republic next month, when he won Sunday’s long distance event at Brown Clee Hill, near Ludlow.
