Glasgow Wildcats lost 46-27 to Leeds Carnegie in their opening match in the UK Superleague but coach Denise Holland was not too disappointed.
Wildcats competed well in the first half and were only six points down at half-time.
Leeds won the match in the third quarter where they outscored Wildcats 15-4 to take the game out of their reach.
But Holland said: "It was encouraging. We competed in the first, second and fourth quarters but lost our way in the third against a top four side."
