Glasgow Wildcats suffered their sixth successive defeat in the UK Superleague when they went down 25-58 to Mavericks at the Kelvin Hall.

Wildcats, bottom of the table, were up against it early on and trailed 6-15 after the first quarter.

Mavericks continued to use their strongest team and stretched away in the second half.

Wildcats coach Denise Holland believes here team can still improve in their first season.

"Mavericks prevented us from playing a usual fast-release game. It was disappointing but of course we will take much away from the experience," she said.

"Defensively I was pleased that we forced the powerful England combination of Louisa Brownfield and Karen Atkinson into many errors."
