Monarchs edge closer to Premier Trophy after Brum win
Edinburgh Monarchs have one hand on the Premier Trophy after crushing Birmingham Brummies in the first leg of the final at Armadale.
Monarchs lost the first heat 4-2 but stormed back to record 5-1s in seven of the next eight heats.
It put them in total command as they sped to a 65-24 win - a 41-point lead going into the second leg in Birmingham which has still to be scheduled.
In a busy weekend, Monarchs went down 53-39 at Workington in a Premier League match.
But Sunday's scheduled match with Glasgow Tigers was called off due to water damage to the track.
