Heartbreak for Easton as Hydrex Honda pull out of World Superbikes
Hawick's Stuart Easton's hopes for a second bite of the World Superbike cherry have been scuppered due to a lack of team funds.
The 25-year-old made his World Superbike debut at the fourth round in Assen, Holland in April, finishing 18th in race one before retiring in race two.
Easton replaced Kawasaki WSB rider Broc Parkes for the Dutch round after the 27-year-old was ruled out due to a crash sustained while testing at Snetterton.
Speculation was rife that Easton, who is sitting in third place in the British Champinship, would be backed by employers Hydrex Honda to take a wildcard entry for the World Superbike round nine this weekend.
But team boss Shaun Muir insists domestic honours must come before any experimentation.
He said: "We haven't really got the budget for it and we need to keep our eye on the British championship ball."
