Victory is near for Easton

Hawick's Stuart Easton insists there is no time like the present as he bids for a debut ViSK British Superbike victory at round four at Thruxton this weekend.

Easton claimed second and third at Donington Park last Sunday and currently stands third in the overall standings with 78 points, 39 points behind runaway leader Leon Camier.

The 25-year-old suffered a nightmare season with the Hawk Kawasaki team last year, ending 13th in the overall standings with a fifth at Oulton Park his best finish, but a move to the Hydrex Honda team has breathed new life into his career.

And Easton believes the trip to Hampshire couldn?t be better timed as he looks to climb the top step for the first time.

"We only have had a few days break between Donington Park and Thruxton but that is the way I like it," said Easton.

"I feel that I am riding well enough to be on the podium again and the Hydrex Honda was much better on raceday after we ran the new gearbox.

"We are going to sit down before practice day at Thruxton and look at the data from last weekend so that we have a good idea on where to start.

"Every race we are just getting stronger and we are getting really close to that top step now so who knows what will happen this weekend."
