Thomas Jonasson to ride for Edinburgh Monarchs after fixture confusion is resolved
Thomas Jonasson has confirmed he will ride for Edinburgh Monarchs against Workington on Friday after a clash of fixtures with his Swedish club.
It was rumoured that Jonasson was required to race for Vetlanda but Monarchs have moved to stifle them.
The club stressed that an aggrement between the British Speedway Promoters' Association and their Swedish counterparts means Monarchs have first call on the rider.
"Vetlanda wanted Thomas to ride on both days, but the agreement between the BSPA and Svemo clarifies that our official fixture tonight takes precedence," a club statement said.
"Edinburgh were certain that the agreement gave our match priority but confirmation was required for the Swedes."
