Monarchs in Final Furlong

Edinburgh Monarchs will get the chance for promotion to Elite League speedway if they can beat Kings Lynn over two legs this week in the Premier League play-off final.

Monarchs drew 45-45 at Kings Lynn in the league earlier this year and a similar result would set them up nicely for the second leg at Armadale on Friday.

When Kings Lynn last raced at Armadale, they were beaten 54-39, though on that occasion their top man Kevin Doolan was out injured.

William Lawson has had a nine-week spell out of action for Monarchs through injury and he has struggled to find his form since.

If Monarchs can win over two legs then they will face an Elite League side to see if they can make the step up.
