Faqns keen to see Jonasson return to the track
Scotwaste Edinburgh Monarchs are hoping that Swedish star Thomas Jonasson will be fit to return from injury for Friday's home fixture against Rye House Rockets.
Jonasson was declared unfit to compete against Stoke Potters last weekend, but did make a surprise appearance for his Polish Club, Stad Gorzow, on Sunday.
Jonasson has admitted that he was placed under considerable pressure and was forced to ride in Poland against medical advice.
Hs next outing is expected to be for Valsarna in the All-Swedish League on Thursday - but he could yet pull put. Jonasson says he is determined to be lining up for Edinburgh on Friday.
Monarchs' captain Derek Sneddon has been informed of the full details of Thomas's Polish experience and said: "I certainly don't question his loyalty to us, I think he really enjoys being part of the team.
"I can understand the frustration of the fans who haven't seen him ride much but I don't doubt his commitment to Edinburgh".
